Dystrybucje Linuxa i zastosowania. Mam nadzieje rozbdowac ta strone w miare mozliwosci i nowych wiadomosci na temat. Od niedawna zaczalem powaznie uzywac systemu Linux, a dokladniej Ubuntu (Edgy). Nie mniej przygladam sie innym dystrybucja ktore bede tu staral sie opisac oczami nowicjusza i starego uzytkownika Windows wszystkich masci.
CentOS - An Enterprise-class Linux Distribution derived from sources freely provided to the public by a prominent North American Enterprise Linux vendor (that’d be Red Hat Enterprise Linux for anyone that cares). CentOS is designed for people who need an enterprise class OS without the cost or support of the prominent North American Enterprise Linux vendor.
Damn Small Linux - Dystrybucja mieszczaca sie w 50 MB, przeznaczona dla bardzo slabych komputerow. Bez probelmu zainstolowala sie u mnie na starym laptopie TexasInstruments TravelMate 5000 na pokladzie ma tylko 16 MB pamieci RAM , Pentium 1 75 MHz, i 4 GB dysk twardy. System operacyjny zainstalowal sie bezblednie, karty PCMCIA dzialaja jednak 16 MB pamieci jest za malo by uruchomic graficzny interface.

I’ve tried a few of these myself (DSL, Fedora, Knoppix, Slackware and Ubunto), and installation was straight forward. Didn’t really have any trouble getting them up and running.
